Selamat Hari Raya!

To all my friends, fellow bloggers and readers celebrating Hari Raya Aidilfitri ...

I wish I am back in Malaysia visiting open houses, catching up with one another and making new friends, after the makan sessions of course! Hopefully, next year.

Hi Rita,

Your returning to your blog after some time is like a Virtual Balik Kampung :)

And it coincides with the return of our Kampung Seattle weather too.

Hi Rita,
I have not stopped by in ages, but enjoyed my visit this morning. Hope to be a more frequent visitor soon. I am presently in San Diego with new grandson. I head home to Costa Rica next week (wish I could take the little guy with me!).
Blessings

Hi Pi ... busy, distracted, lazy - the whole works! Thank you for eating your delicious spread on my behalf. I do love lemang. My favorite is from a stall along Karak Highway. They sell the best petai too. :)

I hope you are having a ball!

Hey Zawi! I haven't seen any palm leaves here yet and have been making nasi impit as substitute for ketupat. Put the cooked rice in ziploc bags and clamped them between two pieces of wood planks. Funny sight but taste and texture ok-lah.

I look forward to viewing your Raya photos. :)

Yes, I haven't been blog-hopping for a while but will definitely pop by yours to sample your sambal kacang. :)

Hi Zulhusni ... Thank you for visiting my blog and the link. You sound very entrepreneurial for one so young. I'll drop by later to check out your 'income' ideas. :)

I hope you are enjoying the Raya festivities.

That's a nice reflection on my blogging status, Louis. Thank you.

Were you in Malaysia during a balik kampung celebration? Did you visit any open houses? I used to enjoy the peace and quiet in KL during the temporary exodus. The streets were so empty one could drive sideways in full speed!

I am a cold weather person so our present temperatures are nice!

See you at Hopscotch soon.

Hi Kathie ... Congratulations on Kaiden's arrival! He is indeed a big and beautiful baby, has such an adorable look in his sleep. :)

I have been away from blogs for a long while myself and plan to come strolling with you soon.

Happy Sunday, Kathie.

Pak Idrus ... Hi! Yes, it's such a bummer we couldn't go home for Hari Raya this year. David has never been to an open house before and was looking forward to it quite a bit. I cooked him beef rendang (with the segera paste) as a consolation. Definitely below par of Kak Asmah's version but he enjoyed it. Haha!

Going over to check your blog for Raya posts. :)

Hello Rita,

I have been fortunate to have been in Malaysia at least twice at Balik Kampung, and have seen it from both ends.

In Penang I was among the festive crowds arriving at their kampungs. Personnel at my hotel even took me to an Open House.

On another occasion I was in an astonishingly quiet KL after the exodus to the kampungs. My taxi driver was obviously relishing the deserted streets in the heart of the city and gave me a very relaxed ride, oblivious of where I had wanted to go. I felt he would have just kept on driving and chatting, he was so delighted with the freedom.

Like you, I prefer the cooler seasons. I guess the leaves in your area are showing their Fall colors.

Louis ... Lovely Seattle weather this morning. Lucky us!

Thank you, Norma. I trust you had a wonderful time.

David was actually willing to drive us over but he had committed himself to helping a friend renovate his bar for opening soon. I should have booked him earlier!

Enjoy the weekend, Norma!

So true, Kerp. Who needs booze when there is air bandung?? :)
